Kid is out of town
The house silent and empty
Deafening silence
I am not yet facing the ‘empty nest syndrome’. But the very thought depresses me.
When the kid is out of town or out for long periods, the house is quiet. Eerily so. We wish it wouldn’t be so quiet. Even the sounds of fierce arguments are welcome.
The silence kills.
