Beware of Parks

One day some friends and I
Decided to visit a nearby park
The park is huge and lush green
We reached while it was still dark

We walked around for a little bit
Listened to amazing bird call
My friend, she is quite the expert
She managed to identify them all

While we wandered about
A man came selling hot tea
We greedily drank two cups each
And stopped ’cause there was nowhere to pee

And then we reached an amazing patch
Covered with trees green and tall
The place was silent and peaceful
We could even hear a leaf fall

Where are the birds
We wondered then
Although we enjoyed the quiet
No sound from a pigeon or hen

Suddenly we spotted the strangest sight
Lying on the floor of the thicket
Looked like a tiny alien head
We were a bit scared to pick it

We held our breaths
We were quite shocked
Looked around for a space ship
Close by it might be docked

Nothing or no one we could see
Just a weird and deathly silence
Not a leaf seemed to be moving
In the air a strange intoxicating fragrance

We looked around
And then we found
Many more such heads
Lying without a sound

All around, all around
Without a sound
More alien heads lying quite dead
We had found an alien burial ground

Retraced our steps
We were scared, I will not lie
My God! We found more bizarre sights
Like a Cyclop, a single eye

Now fear left us
We were filled with intrigue
Where exactly were we?
What else was there to see?

Spent some time
In the alien burial ground
Clicked a lot of pics to share
To tell the world what we had found

After our initial surprise, we understood that these were the seeds of the Nagasampige tree. Biological name: Mesua Ferrea L.

The flower is orange, has thick petals, and such a heady aroma. You can see the flower and budding aliens in this picture.
